The campaign for local congressional candidate Tatiana Matta has missed two financial reporting deadlines, according to Federal officials.

Matta is challenging Congressman Kevin McCarthy for his seat representing California's 23rd Congressional District.

This morning 23ABC spoke to the Federal Election Commission, which confirmed that Matta's campaign missed quarterly and pre-general financial reporting deadlines earlier this month.

The commission said that it has sent Matta's campaign two letters informing it of the missed deadlines. Her campaign now faces possible fines. The last financial report from Matta that was filed, was in June.

Matta has released a statement following FEC filings.

“The campaign is actively working on submitting the appropriate reports to the FEC in the upcoming days with a new compliance firm. After the system rejected the October filing, we've have retained a state firm to immediately correct this. Since the campaign understands accuracy is key this firm will be helping us with the reporting moving forward. Thank you for the support given throughout the campaign and we will keep everyone updated. We have one week to go and we are working hard to finish strong.”
