Finally Friday: Celebrate Star Wars Day and Cinco de Mayo with these local events

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It is finally Friday and we have to major holidays to celebrate - Star Wars Day and Cinco de Mayo!

Stampede Rodeo Days
Kick off your weekend with Stampede Rodeo Days! This is the Biggest Little Rodeo in California, and will feature bull riding, trick roping, and more. The rodeo raises money for training and equipment for Kern County Sheriff's Reserve Deputies. The rodeo runs today and tomorrow at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Gates open tonight at 5 p.m. and events start at 7 p.m.

Bakersfield Condors Quest for the Calder Cup
The Bakersfield Condors' quest for the Calder Cup continues tonight. The top-seeded Bakersfield Condors take on the 3rd-seeded San Diego Gulls in Game 1 of a best-of-seven series. The puck drops at 7 p.m. tonight. The team will also be in town for Game 2 Saturday.

Barks and Brews
Saturday morning, experience the two best things in the world - dogs and beer! Marley's Miracle Mutts is hosting a Barks and Brews event at Crusader Brewing. Marley's Miracle Mutts brings therapy dogs to people in need in the community. There will be food trucks, local beer, and Miracle Mutts. Barks and Brews starts at noon on Saturday.

May the Fourth be with Brew
Saturday marks "May the Fourth Be With You," also known as Star Wars Day. Great Change Brewing and Imbibe Wine & Spirits Merchant are teaming up for May the Fourth be with Brew. For $15, enjoy five five ounce tasters of Great Change beer as well as a Great Change Brewing glass. The tasting starts ta 5 p.m. Saturday Night at Imbibe Wine & Spirits Merchant.

Bikers for Heroes Poker Run
Give back to an important cause through the 8th Annual Bikers for Heroes Poker Run. The event helps veterans across Kern County, from helping veterans with rent to buying work boots, groceries, and more for veterans. The ride is about an hour and 30 minutes long and includes 3 poker stops. There is also a donation-only tri-tip and chicken lunch. The ride costs $20 per bike and kicks off at 9 a.m. at Bakersfield Harley Davidson.

La Mina Cantina Cinco de Mayo Parking Lot Party
Enjoy live music and good food at La Mina Cantina located on District Boulevard.

Cinco de Mayo at The Padre Hotel
Enjoy food, margaritas, and micheladas at The Padre Hotel. Rockamole will be providing some great music throughout the event. The event starts at 1 p.m.
