Finally Friday: Eight things to do with Dad over Father's Day Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — We are celebrating all of the dads and father-figures this weekend! Here are some local events both you and your dad can enjoy.

7th Annual Top Sirloin Barbecue
Since this weekend is all about dad, that means it's also all about the barbecue. The Mission at Kern County is holding their 7th Annual Top Sirloin Barbecue. Enjoy live music and raffles while also listening to the powerful stories of the men and women who have been changed thanks to the Mission. Tickets are $20. The Top Sirloin starts at 6:30 tonight at The Mission at Kern County.

Beginner West Coast Swing Dance Lessons

After getting your barbecue fix, head over to Studio 9 Dance to shake off all that food. Studio 9 is offering beginner west coast swing dance lessons. It's a great way to get some exercise, meet new friends and learn some new moves for the summer. The lessons are only $12 and start at 8 p.m. Friday.

Bakersfield Father's Day Run

Saturday morning wake up Dad and head over to The Park at River Walk for the Bakersfield Father's Day Run. Enjoy a 5k run or 2k walk and earn that finishers medallion, as well as a delicious root beer float. Donations will also be collected for the ZERO Prostate Cancer Organization. The run starts at 7 p.m. Saturday morning.

Kern County Barbecue Throwdown

After the run head over to Stramler Park for the Kern County Barbecue Throwdown. Now this is an event you and the whole family can enjoy. Try out samples of some of the best barbecue in Kern County. There will also be beer vendors, merchandise and more. The Throwdown kicks off at noon Saturday and runs through 9 p.m. so you have plenty of time to go and enjoy some delicious food.

Barnyard Bash Pub Crawl

After getting your fill of food, it's time for some drinks thanks to the Barnyard Bash Pub Crawl. Grab your cowboys and cowgirls and meet at Riley's for some food and drink specials. Some of the stops along the old town pub crawl road include Sandrini's, Jerry's Pizza and The Padre Hotel. Twelve dollars gets you drink specials and free entry into the multiple bars. The crawl kicks off at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Sports Cars at the Kern County Museum

Sunday is Father's Day! Celebrate your dad or the father-figures in your life by taking him to the Kern County Museum for some sports cars. The museum will be filled with classic and newer sports cars your dad is sure to enjoy. Tickets are only $5 for adults. Children 12-years-old and under are free so be sure to bring the whole family. The museum opens at noon on Sunday.

Father's Day Food Spots

Dad not into cars? There are plenty of barbecue and brunch options he is sure to enjoy. Both The Padre Hotel and Cafe Med are serving up some delicious barbecue for dads. The Padre Hotel will be serving up some delicious ribs, while Cafe Med has you covered with filet mignon, prime rib, and more. For breakfast, The Broken Yolk is offering dads a Father's Day buffet starting at 9 a.m.
