Finally Friday! Events happening across Kern County this weekend

It is finally Friday, Kern County! Before you head out the door for the day, here are some of the fun events happening across the county this weekend.

Friday, February 22

The Bakersfield Home & Garden Show kicks off this weekend with 500 booths spread out across 100,000 square feet of exhibition space. The show opens at 12 p.m. on Friday and concludes at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12-years-old and under are free!

The White Buffalo is playing at Temblor Brewing Company. The country singer is performing some of his hits at the brewery located on Buck Owens Boulevard. The show is 18+, and tickets are available online.

Piff the Magic Dragon is bringing his dragon suit and magic tricks to The Fox tonight! Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 23

The Seeds of Inspiration Community Garden is hosting a community garden cleanup event to get ready for their new crops! The group will be clearing out overgrowth and making repairs before planting seeds in March. The cleanup begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Bakersfield Black American History Parade will mark the end of Black History Month. The parade starts at 10 a.m. at 21st Street and V Street and is free for the public.

The Armed Forces Support Foundation is raising money through a special screening of "Saving Private Ryan." The screening will be held at The Fox Theater. There will be military vehicles outside of the theater and much more. The screening is $5. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday, February 24

There is a free medical outreach clinic that will be held at 9 a.m. at Golden Valley High School. The clinic will over medical screenings and dental. The event is free to the public and operated by volunteers.

Interested in being an umpire for the Spring 2019 Northwest Bakersfield baseball season? There will be an informational meeting at 2 p.m. at the Northwest Fields.
