BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — This weekend is packed with events happening across the county!

Battle of the Badges
Start off your Friday night with a battle you don't want to miss. It's county versus city in the 25th Annual Battle of the Badges. There will be 9 exhilarating rounds of officers and deputies going head to head to see who is the best in the ring.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the first round starts at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $20. All proceeds go to charity.

Original Cinco de Mayo Event
Looking for a calmer event? Check out the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Original Cinco de Mayo event. Now it isn't May yet, however this event takes you through the origins of the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

Fun fact: the Cinco de Mayo holiday was created and first celebrated by Latino residents of California.

Enjoy narration and suites of dance productions throughout the East Bakersfield Auditorium. The event starts at 4 p.m. Friday.

Get Messy Event at Kern County Museum
Saturday morning let the kids get messy at the Kern County Museum. The Get Messy Event gives kids of all ages the chance to experience the museum in a new, hands-on way. It's $5 per person and starts at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Country and Craft Beer Festival
After cleaning up from the mess, leave the kids at home and head over to Central Park at Mill Creek for the 5th Annual Country and Craft Beer Festival. You can experience craft beers from right here in Kern County and from across the country. The event is $60 per person and includes food and beer tasters. The beers start flowing at 1 p.m. and the taps cut off at 5 p.m.

Professional Bull Riding Velocity Tour
After a few beers, and maybe a nap, get your blood pumping with some professional bull riding. The PBR Velocity Tour is barreling into Rabobank Arena. See if these professionals can last eight seconds on some of the toughest bulls. Tickets start at $15. The rides set off at 7 p.m.

McFarland USA Marathon and 5K Run
On Sunday you can check an event of your bucket list by completing the McFarland USA Half Marathon and 5K Run. The run takes you through McFarland's outskirts, beautiful grape fields, almond fields, and more. Packet pickup starts at 5 a.m. on Sunday, and the marathon and 5K start at 7 a.m.

Kern County Animal Services Mega Adoption Event

Kern County Animal Services is hosting their Mega Adoption Event by bringing together Kern County's shelters, rescues, and pet lovers together to save homeless pets.
