BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County, it is finally Friday! For many of us, it is also the start of summer. So let's kickoff summer the right way with these events happening across the county.

End of the Month Wine Tasting at Cafe Med

After work, head over to Cafe Med and enjoy their End of the Month Wine Tasting. It is a great time to unwind, sample new wines, and enjoy good food. These specials only happen at the end of the month so you don't want to miss out. The wine tasting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Cafe Med Restaurant.

Emo Night Tour at Jerry's Pizza and Pub

After unwinding with a glass of wine, switch to a Mike's Hard Lemonade and relive your angsty days with Emo Night. Emo Night takes you back to the early 2000s with songs from Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and more. So lather on some eyeliner and travel back to a time where your biggest worry was who was in your MySpace Top 8. Doors open tonight at 10 p.m. at Jerry's Pizza and Pub. Tickets are $13 at the door.

Saturday morning take the kids to Beale Memorial Library for the Touch-a-Truck event.
