Fire crews are battling a blaze at a recycling facility Monday morning in Southeast Bakersfield.

According to the Kern County Fire Department, firefighters were called around 4:45 a.m. to Metropolitan Recycling on South Mount Vernon.

When crews arrived they found that wood chips and wood debris had caught fire.

Windy weather is making it difficult to suppress the fire and crews are still working to extinguish the flames.

No one has been injured and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
