Bakersfield and Kern County fire crews battled a generator blaze in Southeast Bakersfield on Monday morning.

According to fire officials, firefighters arrived at 1215 East White Lane just before 8:30 a.m. to find a "working fire" inside of a metal sea train involving the unit's contents, a generator and a 1,000 gallon diesel fuel tank.

Crews battled the blaze while assisting with protecting large equipment nearby. BFD fire investigators determined that the fire was accidental and the result of an equipment malfunction. The fire lasted nearly six hours.

Damages are currently being estimated. No injuries were reported.
