The California Highway Patrol was responding to a traffic accident in the 200 block of Harris Drive in Bakersfield when they discovered a home on fire.

Crews from both the Bakersfield Fire Department and the Kern County Fire Department responded to the scene and extinquished the flames.

There were no injuries, but two nearby homes suffered minor to moderate damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. No word if the home was occupied at the time of the fire.
