A fire in Bodfish has reached 206 acres as of 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
At about 12:20 p.m., Kern County firefighters were sent to Bodfish Canyon just east of Lake Isabella Boulevard.

The fire grew to 88 acres in 2 hours, but no structures are being threatened at the time of this post.
The fire is currently at 20 percent containment.
Officials said that no one has been injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind residents to make sure they maintain the required defensible space around their home. The Kern County weather is beginning to heat up and humidities are starting to drop, which is causing the vegetation to dry out and become very susceptible to burning.
