Fire in east Bakersfield displaces 27 people, leaves one injured

A total of 27 people were displaced after a fire ripped through the second floor of a three-story residential building in east Bakersfield. 

It happened Saturday night just after 11:00 p.m. at 921 Baker St.

Bakersfield Fire Department responded and reported a working fire in the building. 

Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines, rescued occupants and attacked the fire. 

One civilian injury was reported.
