BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — (UPDATE 4:08 p.m.): According to Kern County Fire, the damages from the fire were mostly contained to the garage. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
Hazardous Materials crews found no threat to health or environment after identifying types and amounts of chemicals on scene. Additional testing by Kern County Environmental Health determined water from firefighting operations to be chemical free.

(UPDATE 11:38 a.m.): Kern County Fire has knocked down a fire near Rosedale Highway and Old Farm Road in Bakersfield. No injuries reported at this time, according to Kern County Fire officials.

At around 10:43 a.m. firefighters were dispatched to a building fire near the Rosedale Highway and Old Farm Road.
It was determined that the building on fire was part of a pest control business. The fire was seen spreading to the house from a detached garage.
Hazardous Materials crews with Kern County Public Health is also on scene.
