BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Here's your chance to meet your local Bakersfield first responders. Bakersfield Fire, Bakersfield Police and Hall Ambulance will be at the inaugural Public Safety Day.
The event will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Bakersfield Fire Station 1. Officials said first responders will perform live the demonstrations. Bakersfield Fire will extricate a victim from a car and scale down one of their towers. Bakersfield Police will host their own demonstration on the corner of H and 21st Streets. Finally there will be CPR demonstrations inside the fire station.
The event is free to the public and will include food, drinks, games for children, an appearance by Sparky the Dog and children will have the ability to shoot water from a hose on top of a fire engine.
The event is at the Downtown Bakersfield Central fire station at 2101 H Street.
