Five people were arrested Friday night for firearm violations and gang participation.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, around 7:30 p.m. Friday evening, officers responded to an apartment complex near 8th and V St. for suspects brandishing a firearm.
Officers found several people standing near parked vehicles in the parking lot of the complex.
One of the men, later identified as Trayvale Carlson, 26, ran away when officers arrived.
Police caught him and found him with a stolen .40 caliber semiautomatic firearm.
Police also searched one of the vehicles in the parking lot and found a stolen AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. Both firearms were loaded.
Carlson was arrested and booked for firearm violations, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and gang participation.
Kenyata Hutchinson, 23, Rodney Gupton, 19, Timothy Bernal, 20, and Joaquin Salazar, 21, were also arrested and booked for firearm violations, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and gang participation.
