MARICOPA, Calif. — Highway 166 re-opened between Maricopa and Mettler Thursday afternoon, but Caltrans is warning more rain headed into Kern County could mean a closure once again.

Caltrans District 6 closed Highway 166 at Highway 33 Thursday just before Noon. Officials say major flooding in the area forced the closure in both directions.

They reopened the road around 3:30 p.m., but say just like the road flooded Thursday, rain expected Saturday through Monday could mean another closure.

Be sure to follow 23ABC for the latest road closures as rain moves through Kern County right here at TurnTo23.Com as well as the 23ABC Facebook Page.
