Mayor Harvey Hall along with FoodMaxx hope to stamp out hungry during the holidays, helping out as many families as they can.
Kern County is the 9th highest when it comes to food hardship in the United States.
To help boost donations to local food banks during the holiday season, Save Mart and FoodMaxx stores in Kern County will once again hold the "Give. Share. Care! Holiday drive."
It's easy for our shoppers to donate; at checkout you tear off a coupon and hand it to the cashier.
That coupon will be added to your grocery bill with 100-percent of the proceeds going towards the Community Action Partnership of Kern Food Bank.
Last year, nearly $3,000 dollars was collected for this organization.
The food drive will run from November 14th to December 27th at all 7 Save Mart and FoodMaxx stores in Kern County.
