BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Officials confirmed with 23ABC News the FoodMaxx on Union Avenue near California Avenue, is closing.
According to officials, the store is closing due to under-performance and Friday will be their last day.
In a statement, a spokesperson with the company said:
We have been able place all of our FoodMaxx team members in positions in our other surrounding stores.
FoodMaxx has sold the lease to another operator, who will assume control of the property shortly after our store’s closure on Friday

FoodMaxx is a grocery store under The Save Mart Companies. According to their website, the first FoodMaxx opened in Bakersfield in 1986.
