The Kern High School District officials say that Foothill High School is on lockdown.

KCSO officials placed the school on lockdown at around 10:40 A.M.

KCSO lifted the lockdown at around 12:57 P.M. Thursday.

A Sheriff's Spokesman tells 23ABC that they were investigating a person armed with a gun in a neighborhood near Foothill High school.

The high school was on lockdown as a precaution and there's no immediate word of any injuries.

KCSO officials say a white male with a dark shirt and pants  was armed with a firearm.

He fired the weapon, but according to officials no one is hurt.

All started with an altercation between a man and a woman, the woman escaped.
