Just before 7 a.m. this morning 16-year old Foothill student Ashley Cruz was hit by a truck while in the crosswalk near Eucalyptus Road.
That truck was driven by 86-year-old Lloyd Scroggin. Officers say after being hit by the truck, Cruz was then hit by another car.
CHP says the area on Morning Drive across from Foothill High School has proven to be dangerous.
Just last year, two Foothill students were hit by cars.
Initially the truck driver that first hit Cruz left the scene but his family told CHP about it and charges are pending.
Cal Trans tells 23ABC they plan on opening an investigation on this intersection and come up with a solution soon.
