Former Bakersfield Condors player Matt Thurber died Monday at the age of 28, according to team representatives.
Representatives did not say how Thurber died.
Thurber was a member of the hockey team during the 2013-14 season, helping them advance to the Western Conference Finals.
According to team representative Thurber leaves behind a wife and a 1-year-old daughter.
