Chief Deputy Justin Fleeman, who ran for Kern County Sheriff earlier this year against Donny Youngblood, has been placed on paid administrative leave. 

Kern County Counsel Mark Nations tells 23ABC that Fleeman was placed on leave regarding complaints filed from one or more KCSO employees. Nations says the investigation into the complaints is being handled by an outside law firm. 

The allegations against Fleeman are unknown at this time. 

Fleeman ran against Sheriff Donny Youngblood in early 2018 but ultimately lost the election with just 32% of the vote.
