Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens was identified as one of the five victims of the Dallas police ambush that happened on Thursday evening.

Ahrens, a 14-year veteran with the Dallas Police Department, was a former member of the LA County Sheriff's Department.

He served as a dispatcher at the Lennox and Lancaster stations, and former colleagues say that he moved to Dallas to pursue his dream of becoming an officer.

Ahrens leaves behind a wife and two young children.
