Kern County Fire is reporting that the Fort Fire is now 85% contained at 554 acres burned. 

Full containment is expected by 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The brush fire broke out just past 11 a.m. on Friday on the Grapevine near Interstate 5.

It is not known what caused the fire.
