LEBEC, Calif. — Step back in time and learn first hand about the Civil War. Fort Tejon is hosting Civil War battle re-enactments, period music, food and sporting events.
Sunday is the second and final day of the historical event. The day starts with a Presidential Press Conference with Abraham Lincoln at 10 a.m. followed by the first battle re-enactment at 11 a.m., the Gettysburg Address by President Lincoln at 1 p.m. and the second battle at 2 p.m.
Tickets for the re-enactments at $10 for adults, $5 for children, and free for those 5 and under.
California State Park interpreter Mike Deagon said, the event is an important lesson to the story of America. And California played a large roll in the Civil War sending among the most troops per capita and delivering California gold to help fund the Union Army.
