Four people arrested for operating "chop shop"

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Authorities discovered a stolen vehicle "chop shop" after responding to a non-injury hit and run where the victim followed the suspect vehicle to the area of South Washington Street and East Belle Terrace.

The call came in just before 1 a.m. on Monday. Authorities were able to recover 12 cars "in various states of disassembly" and an additional 14 vehicles that were impounded.

Omar Bravo, 26, Veronica Mendoza, 42, Edgar Reyes, 26, and Alexi Rodriguez, 27, were arrested and are now facing multiple charges that include possession of a stolen vehicle and operating a "chop shop."
