Four pounds of suspected methamphetamine are seized in Delano

The Kern County Sheriff's Office Gang Street Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation that led them to seize nearly four pounds of suspected meth, ammunition and a small amount of suspected rock cocaine in two locations in Delano.

The four pounds of suspected meth that were taken on Saturday Oct. 21 have an estimated street value of $70,000.

Two men were arrested on multiple charges near Fremont Street and 8th Avenue; and Garces Highway and Princeton Street. 

55-year-old Johnny Figueroa was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale, maintaining a residence to sell a controlled substance, possession of ammunition by a felon, and possession of a controlled substance. His bail has been set at $72,500.

Miguel Ayon Martinez, 41, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale, and possession of controlled substance for sale. Martinez' bail has been set at $140,000.

They were both booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
