Kern Medical and the Kern High School District are teaming up to provide free sports physicals to high school student athletes this weekend.

In a release, Kern Medical said they hope the free physicals will decrease costly barriers to participating in athletics. The physicals will be held Saturday, August 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kern Medical's Columbus Street Clinic in Bakersfield.

Kern Medical physicians perform over 1,500 sports physicals annually.
