Kern Medical is offering free women's cervical cancer health exams and information on Saturday, October 13.
Attendees will learn about the HPV vaccine, the importance of having a routine female health exam, and other issues affecting women’s health, according to a Kern Medical press release.
Women can receive a free health exam that morning, or schedule a free screening at a future date.
“Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women ages 35-55, but it’s highly treatable when it’s detected early, said Dr. Everardo Cobos MD, FACP, Chair of the Department of Medicine at Kern Medical. "That’s why we are opening our doors, offering these services for free.”
The event is planned from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. at Kern Medical's Columbus Clinic, located at 1111 Columbus Street.
Attendees will receive free gift bags and an opportunity to win a spa gift basket, light refreshments will be served.
