French Fire grows to more than 16,000 acres, currently 19% contained

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (KERO) — The French Fire, burning in the Kern River Valley, has grown to more than 16,000 acres.

On Tuesday, Alex Olow, the public information officer for the U.S. Forest Service Critical Incident, confirmed the fire's growth, saying it is just 19 percent contained.

The blaze has led to evacuations in Wofford Heights and surrounding areas.
