Fresno County deputies save man choking on piece of meat

FRESNO, Calif. — A man choking on a piece of meat turned blue and went unconscious, before Fresno County Sheriff deputies saved his life Sunday.

According to a press release, three deputies responded to a choking call just outside of Kerman and performed the Heimlich Maneuver on the 44-year-old man, causing him to spit out the meat.

The press release states that the deputies were fortunately in the general area when the call came in.

An ambulance arrived shortly after and transported the man to a local hospital.

A photo of the scene shows a the man in the ambulance sticking up a thumb. The release states that he is in good spirits.
