BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A funeral service for John Rous will be held next week.
Rous, 78, was killed in a collision with a car while he was riding a bicycle in northeast Bakersfield on Nov. 14.
Rous, who was known around town as an avid bike rider, was also the creator of the Thanksgiving Day Pie Run held at Hart Park.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Wesley United Methodist Church on Oswell Street in east Bakersfield.
The service starts at 2 p.m. and is open to the public.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office says they are investigating human remains that were found in South Bakersfield Friday evening.
