Fusion.net features Kern County in newest documentary with local "fellows" focusing a variety of problems across California as part of "Rise Up: Be Heard" a youth media project supported by the California endowment, a non-profit dedicated to improving healthcare in the state.

23ABC's Mike Boyce spoke with one of the journalists on the project, Michael Wafford. Wafford says the project was very rewarding because he was able to help families in the Arvin and Lamont areas have their water tested, proving their water was unfit for drinking due to ongoing issues with high levels of arsenic.

The main focus of the documentary were water contamination, community police relations, and health care issues impacting the undocumented community.
