A Kern County high school is hosting a state playoff water polo game on Tuesday.

Garces Memorial High School boys water polo team just won a Division II Valley Championship over Monache. Garces is one of only three local schools with a water polo team.

This year is the first time there have been state playoffs for water polo. Number 4 seed Garces will be hosting number 5 seed Marin Academy in a first round playoff game tomorrow night as part of the Inaugural Nor Cal State Championships.

The team said they're ready to prove they have the stuff champions are made of.

The game starts at 5 p.m. at the Garces pool.
