Gas prices have shot up once again and unfortunately it’s just in time for spring break travel season.
Travelers riding through Bakersfield can’t help but notice the recent price surge.
According to Gas Buddy, gasoline prices in Bakersfield have increased $0.13 cents just in the past week.
Virgil Fairley travels quite often and he said last week it only took him fifty bucks to fill up but this week it costs him a little more.
"It's going up all the way. All down the West Coast, it cost me seventy-five dollars,” Fairley said.
And while some may not like the spike in gas prices, others say it's a good thing for the oil industry.
Despite the recent increase in gas prices many drivers told me the hike won’t stop them from getting to their destinations.
