BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The GEO Group and the Sun Pacific Farming Cooperative issued layoff letters detailing mass layoffs on Friday.

According to Sun Pacific, 209 employees will be affected, permanently, initial layoffs will begin Oct. 19.

According to the GEO Group, 97 employees will be affected. Layoffs will begin Sept. 30.
