A little relief with Bakersfield's unhealthy air quality Friday. When the air quality exceeds 150 Air Quality Index (ADI) Golden Empire Transit (GET) said they will allow free rides.

GET officials said they offer the free rides to help encourage drivers to park their cars and use public transportation to try to reduce pollutants into the air.

Officials said funding for this program is provided by a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant.
