Gimme Some Sugar Sweet Company has been closed by Kern County Public Health due to a "active vermin infestation."

According to Kern County Public Health, the bakery "is operating with [an] active vermin infestation". In the inspection, officials noted "gross amount of rodent droppings in kitchen and equipment/utensil storage area." Officials also noted debris on the floors, shelving units, refrigerator, and freezer unit.

Kern County Public Health says in the report that Gimme Some Sugar must receive a sanitary survey by a licensed pest control company. The report also notes that the bakery must be deep cleaned and all food contact surfaces must be sanitized prior to reopening.

Gimme Some Sugar is located at 2100 19th Street in Central Bakersfield. 

In a now deleted Facebook post, Gimme Some Sugar announced that they will be closed "starting today for the long holiday weekend." They also announced they will be offering 10% off all orders placed next week.
