Give Big Kern Day is happening this week, giving people in Kern County the chance to give back.
The event is organized by the Kern Community Foundation and is designed to raise money and volunteer hours for local nonprofits.
According to the foundation, more than 130 agencies are registered to participate this year. The online campaign will be happening on givebigkern.org .
Give Big Kern Day is slated for Tuesday, May 1. The donation portal opened on April 1 and will remain open through May 2, according to the foundation.
