BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Resources Corporation has recently pledged to match $15,000 through Give Big Kern to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County's efforts to provide much needed childcare and meal services to children.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County is prioritizing providing full-day activities for school-age children of first responders, health care professionals and essential community personnel in response to the spread of COVID-19.

Because of the crisis, the Boys & Girls Club has expanded the after-school meal program to seven days a week to help provide nutritious meals for at-risk disadvantaged children in Bakersfield, Arvin and Lamont. So far, they have served 83,815 meals to children since schools have closed.
