BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Golden Empire Transit is looking to promote reading by teaming up with Barnes and Noble for it's Reading Express Book Drive. The Reading Express provides books for children to read while riding with their parents.

Saturday, the community is encouraged to head over to the Barnes and Noble on California Avenue to donate new or gently used books for reading levels up to third grade. Customers can even buy books at Barnes and Noble to donate.
