BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern High School District is investigating a video that was circulating on social media. The video was reportedly taken at Golden Valley High School and caused officials to become concerned.
A concerned parent sent the video to 23ABC News. The video depicted a student ingesting an unknown substance during class. The video than cuts to the same student becoming ill.
Golden Valley is committed to creating a safe and secure environment. We became aware of a disturbing video circulating on social media and launched an immediate inquiry. All involved students were quickly identified and an investigation was conducted by Golden Valley Administration and the Kern High School District Police. Laws surrounding the privacy of student matters prevent us from releasing any further information concerning this incident.
