A Good Samaritan helped to stop a potential robbery at the Valero gas station in central Bakersfield Sunday morning.
According to Bakersfield Police, around 4 a.m. a man entered the store located on Union and California Avenues.
Authorities said he was carrying a makeshift weapon and attempted to rob the business.
A customer then intervened and wrestled the suspect to the ground.
The store employee then stepped in and together they were able to hold him down until officers got there.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspect was unconscious.
An officer performed CPR and the man was transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Authorities said no one else was injured and nothing was taken from the store.
