If you have some free time this weekend, here are some events you can go to!
Saturday October 7, 2017:
- Grande Parade: On Saturday October 07, 2017, check-in at 8:30 a.m. and parade begins at 10:00 a.m. You can line up on 8th & Main St.
- Kern County 999 Foundation, 11th annual officer down ride: Pre-registration for the event will be held on Friday October 6th between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Original Roadhouse Grill located on 8490 Rosedale Highway. You can also register at the event on Saturday morning between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The Sikh Riders of America will provide free breakfast. The ride will start at 4208 Rosedale Highway. The cost for one rider is $25, and two riders is $35.
- Bakersfield Downtown Cleanup Day: If you'd like to help cleanup downtown Bakersfield, now is your time! On Saturday October 07, 2017 there will be a clean-up starting at The Fox Theatre between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 am.
- Dignity Free Flu Clinic: There will be a free flu clinic on Saturday October 07, 2017 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. located at Mercy Hospital Downtown on 16th St and D St.
- Blaine Williard Car Show: Between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on Saturday you have the chance to not only check out some cars, but also join in on a BBQ cook off. The public is free to get in, but those who want to enter their cars must pay a $30 fee.
- Tehachapi Apple Festival: The festival will take place on Saturday, on Green Street in Downtown Tehachapi between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Greek Food Festival: St. George Greek Orthodox Church is hosting their annual Greek Food Festival at 401 Truxtun Ave. between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday. There will be authentic Greek BBQ, Gyro sandwiches, lamb chops and much more! There will also be a bounce house, church tours, and live entertainment as well! Admission is $5, children under 12 are free to get in.
Sunday October 08, 2017:
- Delano Harvest Holiday: The junior livestock awards luncheon will be taking place between at noon inside of the Delano High School Cafeteria.
- Kernville Campout: Music, beer, mechanical bull, and awards will all be at this years Kernville Campout on Sunday. There will be a $30 entrance fee to help cover various costs. The campout will be at Frandy Park Campground located on 11252 Kernville Rd. between 2 p.m. and 11 a.m.
