Governor Jerry Brown announced 14 new appointments Friday afternoon. The positions include Board of Parole Hearings, Board of Juvenile Hearings, Physical Therapy Board of California and California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls.
Among Gov. Brown's appointments included 53-year-old David Long of Tehachapi. Long was reappointed to the Board of Parole Hearings, where he has served since the start of this year. Long most recently was the vice president of prison engagement at Defy Ventures from 2017 to 2018. He was also the warden at California City Correction Facility from 2014 to 2016 and worked at the Ironwood State Prison from 2008 to 2014 and 1995 to 2002.
Long is a registered Republican and his position requires Senate confirmation with a salary of $147,778 a year.
