What was meant to be a Labor Day celebration at the beach turned into devastation for Archie Lee Barber and his family, as two of his grandchildren were killed in a DUI crash near New Cuyama.

Four-year-old Zaniah Coleman and eight-year-old Fabians Foreman died after CHP says their stepfather, Jerald Holman, swerved sideways into oncoming traffic on Highway 166. Holman's car split in half. Coleman and Foreman were in the backseat and died at the scene.

CHP says Holman was arrested for a DUI. The childrens' mother was also in the car at the time of the accident. She has since been released from the hospital with minor injuries.

The car Holman collided with had four passengers in it. All four suffered moderate to mild injuries.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Barber and the family pay for funeral expenses. You can find the link here.

The family will also be at Stop & Shop on East Brundage Lane Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. collecting donations to fund the funeral costs.
