The fire is burning east of Arvin off of Highway 223.

A Kern County Fire Department helicopter is currently making retardant drops over the fire in an attempt to put it out.

A grass fire is being burning near Highway 223 and Deertrail near Granite Construction.
The fire has currently burned about 20 acres according to Kern County Fire Department officials.
