The streets of Bakersfield will be a little cleaner after Saturday.

The Great American Cleanup is taking place all over the country, including right here in Bakersfield.

If you're wondering how you can do your part this Earth Day, you can head to Yokuts Park to take place in one of the largest community service events in the country.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event.

You can volunteer from 8 to 10 a.m. and join an estimated 5 million volunteers nationwide.

The event is open to all ages and it's free to sign up.

Assemblymember Rudy Salas is expected to join the volunteers at Yokuts Park. Volunteers will work on beautification projects followed by a barbeque and awards presentation.

Keep America Beautiful has a list of 20 easy ways to clean your block.
