If you are driving through the canyon this Memorial weekend, chances are you will spot a white tent near the Upper Richbar.

Gary Ananian, the executive director of the Kern River Conservancy, is manning the new booth, which debuted Saturday in the Lower Kern River area.

Ananian tells 23ABC that there has been an informational kiosk in the Upper Kern River area for two years, and they have seen progress in raising awareness about the dangers of the river.

The kiosk will only be open for Memorial weekend, Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend.
