For Rafael Esqueda shooting guns started off as just a hobby but quickly turned into a profitable business. 

His store, Get-A-Gun, has been selling firearms in Kern County for over ten years. 

For Esqueda and many other gun store owners like him, the future of gun sales in the state of California is rocky.

California’s gun laws are among the strictest in the nation, the registration of firearms, long waiting periods and the ban on assault weapons are just a few laws giving gun-lovers a problem.

Gun sales usually skyrocket after mass shootings like the Las Vegas massacre, Sandy Hook and Pulse Nightclub shootings.

The public often calling for gun control while gun enthusiasts fear they won't be able to buy guns anymore.

To buy a gun in the state of California you must have a valid drivers license, pass a state firearms safety certificate test, clean background check and money to purchase the firearm.

To obtain your concealed carry license you must complete an application and take a training class.

Renewal for a CCW license is every two years.
