If you are looking for a morning of Halloween fun then get your costumes ready because you can spread a little joy to local nursing homes this Halloween. 23ABC's Alex Bell spoke with Matthew Flanagan who is organizing a Halloween costume parade for seniors around Kern County.
Flanagan said he wanted to organize the event since many residents at senior living facilities haven't been able to see their families since March due to COVID19. So, he is hoping the community can come together to show support, love and share the excitement of Halloween with local seniors residents!
The event will begin at Parkview Jullian at 9:15 a.m. and the last stop will be at The Orchard Post Acute Care at 12:30 p.m.. Flanagan has also arranged other Halloween goodies for residents to enjoy such as a taco truck and ice cream bars. This event will be socially distanced. The parade will be held on the side walks outside of the senior living facilities. No participants will be allowed inside the senior care facilities and masks are required.
